Fort Hood

I just finished viewing the memorial service held at Fort Hood today for the fallen soldiers. President Obama gave a heart moving speech. I am typing this with tears in my eyes, they gave there lives for our freedom just as much as any soldier who has ever lost there life in war on the battle field. Please, sometime today remember to take a moment of silence and ask God to give the family members of these fallen heroes some peace. My heart is heavy!

I agree. We need to take a moment of silence in their honor today.

So many leave their families, friends their lives for their country. It is amazing to see such courage, and they deserve everyone's respect so much.

I totally agree with you. I was raised in the miltary. I also think that people need to do more to honor them all year around and just not because of what happened at Fort Hood.

And my heart is heavy too, Steven. My husband is in the military, and I think of what the military does for us every day, because it is a part of my life. By the way, that piece I wrote this week was true. It was about when my husband went on a deployment for 6 months and I was just so lost and stricken with worry over him. Unbelievable what these men and women do!

I know. My roommate's brother was in Iraq. The vehicle he was riding in was hit by a IED. Two people died and Bryan, the roomie's bro, had to have a cadaver bone put into the hole in his leg. When my roommie found out about this, it was awful. I didn't think he's ever stop crying. I saw some of the scenes from today. It makes me happy that I'm too drugged up to really feel anything. :\

nevine: God, then this really hits home for you.....they do so much for us, peace to you and your husband!

writer: hope your rommies bro is ok....peace my friend;)

Such a senseless tragedy....so hard to understand. And I agree with you, these soldiers died as bravely as those on a battlefield - they, too, were on a battlefield - on our HOMELAND.

Pat: in our own homeland.....so scary:(
